With an increasing number of employers challenged by a very slow economy, there is a need to find new strategies that contain health care spending, while still providing attractive and supportive benefits for employees.

Employers need creative solutions that enhance health-related workforce productivity while minimizing costs due to poor health, absenteeism and presenteeism.

Ever-developing technological efficiencies, whether it in the form of carrier reporting or sophisticated data warehouse and decision support systems, allow companies to use data, comparative metrics and evidence to target and implement innovative programs to effectively manage employees.

Representatives from Humana and Ingenix will present their specific strategies on how data and decision support tools can be used, no matter how large your organization.

We look forward to seeing you there.

This seminar will cover how a robust reporting process and decision support system will allow employers to

• Experience a significant reduction in time spent collecting, validating, normalizing and distributing health and wellness data

• Consolidate data and reporting across plan designs and administrators

• Develop flexible ad hoc reporting to support regional plan management decision making

• Compare themselves to various benchmarking data.

Section One: Humana (8:00-8:45 a.m.)

• Review tools to help health plan customers be better consumers and make better decisions on plan designs

• Sample Humana’s proprietary “Broker Buddy” health plan utilization data capabilities

• Showcase online transparency tool that removes the veil on the cost for health services

Section Two: Ingenix Consulting (8:45-9:30 a.m.)

• The business need for managing benefit spending: highlighting challenges including unsustainable cost trends

• How other, nonsophisticated benefit strategies have run their course—it is time to reconsider how we make decisions to save dollars

• The benefits of a data-driven, decision process: advantages of utilizing data to drive decisions

Section Three: Case Studies (9:30-10:00 a.m.)

• Humana and Ingenix will review a handful of real-life case studies highlighting how their strategies have led
